Boulder County Clerk Explains How They Spot Potential Voter Fraud
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) - With less than two weeks until Election Day Coloradans are starting to vote.
The Secretary of State's office says 330,000 voters have already turned in their ballots, which is 11 percent of registered voters.
On Tuesday Boulder County gave CBS4 a tour of its Election Wing where all the ballots are sorted, verified and counted. County Clerk and Recorder Hillary Hall explained how it spots potential cases of voter fraud and why it's important to sign the ballot properly.
"The signature in the ballot is compared to the signature in that person's voter registration record," Hall said. "The signatures are then deemed to be accepted or rejected."
Election officials say anyone whose signature does not match will receive a letter and have an opportunity to verify whether it is their signature.
