Study: Coloradans Are Happier Than Most Of America

DENVER (CBS4) – People who live in Colorado are much happier than people living in nearly all of the states in America, according to a study by WalletHub.

WalletHub ranked Colorado as the fourth-happiest state behind Utah, Minnesota and North Dakota.

"Apart from financial security, a pleasant state of being also depends on one's mental and physical health, job situation, experience of positive feelings, environment, social connections and general outlook on life," WalletHub said in the report.

WalletHub analyzed 26 "key metrics, ranging from emotional health to income levels to sports participation rates."

Colorado ranked second in emotional and physical well-being, ninth in work, and 10th in community, environment and recreational activities.

Some of the other categories where Coloradans ranked in the top five are as follows:-

- Lowest percentage of people overweight or obese (2)
- Highest sports participation rate (3)
- Lowest prevalence of inadequate sleep (3)
