$2,000 Reward Offered For Information In Canon City Bear Poaching Case

CALHAN, Colo. (CBS4) – There is a reward for information leading to a citation or an arrest after the poaching of a black bear.

The animal was shot multiple times with arrows in Canon City earlier this month. Investigators say it was a 200-pound female black bear.

"This was not the act of an ethical hunter, this was a grotesque case of poaching," Colorado Parks and Wildlife said in a statement. "The individual that killed this bear showed a total lack of respect for it and stole this bear from the People of the State of Colorado."

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is offering a $2,000 reward.
