Fifth Suspect Arrested In Fountain Beating

FOUNTAIN, Colo. (AP) — Police have arrested a fifth suspect in the beating of a Fountain man involving a hammer and a shovel.

Police on Friday announced the arrests in the attack on 33-year-old Jeremy Otto, whom officers found collapsed on the floor of a mobile home in August.

Police say Otto was beaten with a hammer and a shovel during the attack and suffered head injuries so severe he could not remember what happened to him. His work van containing tools was also stolen. Officers discovered him while responding to an unrelated disturbance.

Police say 20-year-old Jade Nelson was arrested Friday. Arrested earlier were 26-year-old Dominiq Jones, 30-year-old Deneisha Slater, 20-year-old Jonte Calvin and 34-year-old Robert Clawson. Charges include attempted murder and burglary.

It was unclear if they had retained attorneys.
