'El Gringo Loco' To Attempt Jump Over 12 Semis In Erie

ERIE, Colo. (CBS4)- His name is Gary Wells but he calls himself "El Gringo Loco" for his lifelong career of jumping over things while riding a motorcycle.

Wells, 57, is remembering for trying to jump the fountain at Caesar's Palace in 1980. He didn't exactly make the best landing. But that didn't stop him.

Wells calls himself the "Greatest Motorcycle Jumper in the World" and he sports several world records.

Coming up on Friday Wells will attempt to jump 12 semi trucks at Colorado National Speedway in Erie. That's half a football field.

Wells said he's not phased by the upcoming stunt.

"There's a lot of practice that goes into what I do. I ride anywhere from eight to 10 hours a day in the desert in Arizona, riding, racing, doing everything. I've done it virtually my whole life and I just enjoy it," said Wells.
