DPD Officer Takes Ice Bucket Challenge During Retirement Ceremony

DENVER (CBS4)– A long-time police officer in Denver took the ice bucket challenge during his retirement ceremony on Friday.

Lt. Jim Haney explained the challenge is in honor if his best friend who was at the ceremony.

“Dennis was diagnosed with ALS about a year and a half ago,” said Haney. “I appreciate everything you do and what I’d like to do is the ALS bucket challenge in honor of you.”

Once their challenge was complete, Haney challenged Denver Police Chief Robert White and the deputy chiefs. All of them took the challenge right then.
