Fort Collins Couple Accused Of Ignoring Daughter's Seizures
DENVER (CBS4) - A Fort Collins couple could face felony child abuse charges for allegedly ignoring their daughters seizures saying they may have been happening for "spiritual" reasons.
Leah Dyer, 47, and Douglas Dyer, 44, were arrested this week after a months-long investigation. The Fort Collins Coloradoan reported the couple's 8-year-old was removed from their home back in October unable to walk or talk.
Douglas Dyer reportedly told police that because doctors couldn't figure out the cause of the seizures he believed they were "spells" or "episodes." He said he tried to have their home blessed to get rid of spirits.
