Stalker Who Tried To Kill Former Fiancé Sentenced To 76 Years
ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - A man who tried to murder his former fiancé during rush-hour traffic was sentenced to 76 years in prison on Thursday.
On Jan. 9, 2013, Christopher Lyle Fields laid in wait for Anastaysia Glinisty and shot her on an Interstate 25 off-ramp at County Line Road. She suffered serious injuries to her upper chest but was able to drive away to seek help.
At the time of the shooting, Fields was wearing a trackable ankle bracelet because Glinisty had a restraining order against him. He cut off the bracelet and fled south with plans to escape to Mexico but was apprehended by New Mexico State Police near Raton.
Fields was convicted in June.
