4 Reasons Why We Should Have Foreseen Hope Solo’s Meltdown

By: Maria Perez

A 911 call was leaked by TMZ this week, made by an unidentified man, frantically yelling that Hope Solo was “going psychotic” and “beating people up”. Much of the nation was shocked by this but we probably should have seen this coming…

1. From Blonde to Brunette
Back in 2007, Hope was the young, bubbly, blonde, starting goal keeper for the USWNT with a field full of veterans. It all changed after the semifinals of The World Cup in China where she was benched and replaced by Brianna Scurry. Solo made it clear in an interview that she was not happy with the decision, an interview that would later backfire putting her teammates against her.

After the controversy, Hope said so-long to her blonde hair and moved to the dark side, where we should have known it was going to be all down hill from there.

2. Hope Solo stops for no one.
Hope’s 17-year-old nephew, who she allegedly attacked, said “she kept coming after me” and tried to stop her with a BB gun. He should have known that the best goal keeper crushes anything in her way…

3. Excessive Drinking
According to reports, Solo was intoxicated when she arrived at her sister’s home in suburban Seattle.

Just look at the way she chugs from the bottle…should have been a red flag.

4. Poor choices in the past
In 2012 former NFL player, Jeremy Stevens, was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence against Hope Solo. The next day, she married him… Clearly she has questionable judgement.
