Man Sentenced To 4 Years For Fatal Hit & Run In Denver
DENVER (CBS4) - A man has been sentenced to four years behind bars in a deadly hit-and-run.
Police arrested Nathan Beechley, 31, on April 8. He is accused of killing Jonathan Lewis.
Lewis, 35, was struck about 2 a.m. at 9th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard. Police say they found Lewis in the street. He died at the scene just a few blocks from his home.
"Mr. Lewis had multiple injuries from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene," police said in a statement.
Police say evidence at the scene such as car parts and tips from the public led to the arrest of Beechley. The car in the hit-and-run was also recovered in Aurora where the suspect lives.
"In this particular case, the information we received, once we started to develop that information, took us right to a certain location, and a certain person," Sgt. Mike Farr with Denver police said.
Beechley has a long arrest record including DUI and careless driving charges.
