Police: Connecticut Woman Threatened Columbine
LITCHFIELD, Conn. (AP) - An 18-year-old Connecticut woman accused of planning to shoot up two high schools is suspected of making threats against Columbine High School in Colorado.
The Register Citizen reports that Natalie Carpenter is accused of phoning in a threat to Columbine. She was arrested March 4 and pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to commit assault.
It's not known if Carpenter is represented by a lawyer.
She cited Columbine High School in her diary. Police say she planned to shoot up Danbury and Stratford high schools to get back at students she believed bullied her.
Stratford police say the threat to Columbine on Sept. 16 originated from a cell phone traced to Carpenter's Stratford house.
Spokesman Mark Techmeyer of the Jefferson County Sheriff's office in Colorado said charges have not been filed.
