Man Charged In Cold Case Sexual Assault On Child

DENVER (CBS4)- After nearly four years, a man has been charged in connection with a cold case sexual assault on a child.

Joseph Baca has been charged with one count of sexual assault on a child.

On April 20, 2010, a 15-year-old female victim was sexually assaulted by someone she met while visiting downtown Denver. Baca, 25, was not identified as a suspect until a recent DNA match.

Baca remains in custody with a bond set at $50,000. He appeared in Denver County Court on Thursday to be formally advised of the charge.

He is scheduled to appear in court on April 16 for a preliminary hearing.
