Fort Lupton Police Release Sketch Of Attempted Abduction Suspect

FORT LUPTON, Colo. (CBS4) – Police in Fort Lupton have released a sketch of an attempted abduction suspect.

According to police, on Thursday morning at approximately 7:13 a.m. they received a call reporting an attempted child abduction near Fort Lupton High School located at 530 Reynolds Street.

The 14-year-old female victim told officers a white man got out of a vehicle and walked towards her in the south parking lot of the high school.

"The male pushed her against a fence telling her to "be quiet,'" police said in a statement.

Police said the girl began to punch the man and hit him in the face. The man then fled.

The victim described the suspect as tall and thin, approximately 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. He was wearing a dark colored beanie hat, a dark colored coat and dark colored jeans. He spoke with a deep voice.

The suspect's vehicle was described as a light colored station wagon or SUV with a hatchback, tinted windows and possibly an altered suspension lowered to the ground.

"We don't believe there's an imminent threat to the community, however, we urge residents to be vigilant while we move forward in identifying the suspect."
