Police Warn Against Scammers Claiming To Be From Xcel Energy
BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) – Police have issued a warning about scammers claiming to be from Xcel Energy and targeting businesses in Boulder.
At least three business owners said they've gotten calls telling them their accounts are past due.
They are told the power will be disconnected unless they pay a bill immediately via a wire service or a prepaid debit card.
All the business owners contacted police and Xcel Energy to make sure their accounts are in good standing.
