Diabetic Teen Runaway Arrested In New Mexico

ROGGEN, Colo. (CBS4) – Authorities have located and arrested the missing Breanne Gomez and three others in Raton, New Mexico.

Gomez is a 15-year-old runaway from Eau Claire, Wis.

On Thursday Washington and Morgan County authorities chased a stolen car with her and three other teens in it.

Authorities say the suspects ditched the car and then stole a Chrysler Town & Country minivan.

The van was taken from Roggen, Colorado.

Gomez is an insulin-dependent diabetic taking insulin up to five times a day. Without her medications she may have seizures.

Authorities found her medication inside the abandoned vehicle

The stolen vehicle was located and a short foot pursuit occurred before local authorities were able to take the teens into custody without further incident.

The details of the contact and apprehension of the juveniles has not yet been released by the Raton Police Department.
