Avalanche Danger Considerable On Western Slope
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. (AP) - The Colorado Avalanche Information Center says avalanche danger for the Vail Summit area, Grand Mesa and Steamboat Springs is considerable.
Forecasters said Tuesday most of the danger to backcountry skiers and hikers is near the tree line, where the snowpack is weak, but no injuries have been reported.
More snow is expected Tuesday night in the northern Colorado mountains.
