BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) – All across the county demonstrators were protesting outside Walmart stores on Black Friday.

Demonstrators want people to boycott the stores because of its unfair labor practices.

A group of about 30 people stood outside the Walmart in Boulder for most of Friday.

The group had fought to keep the store out of Boulder altogether, now they're protesting the company as an employer.

"We are very much standing by the workers and calling on the company to give them a better deal," said protest organizer Matt Nicodemus.

Men, women and children chanted and waved signs as shoppers made their way inside.

They say the company doesn't pay its employees enough and they worry about the impact the store will have on local business.

"Were the locals and we kind of grew up with this town and this town grew up with us and to see the big boxes coming to our little old town was kind of a shock," said a protester.

A new television ad for the store says otherwise.

Managers at the Boulder store were unavailable for comment on the protesters.
