Armored Car Driver Leaves Gun In School
EVERGREEN, Colo. (CBS4) - Police are investigating after the driver of an armored car left a gun inside a school bathroom.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office the armored car driver was making a regularly scheduled drop off/pickup at Marshdale Elementary School in Evergreen Friday morning. He went in to use the faculty bathroom, and took off his gun and belt while doing so. He then forgot the belt and left the restroom.
A volunteer discovered the gun and staff quickly traced where it came from.
No students or staff were ever considered in danger since it was a staff bathroom and it is legal for the individual to have the weapon on him on school grounds.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office is talking with the district attorney to see if any charges should be filed but says it's unlikely.
