Pilot Injured In Small Plane Crash In Castle Rock

CASTLE ROCK, Colo. (AP) — Authorities say a small plane crashed when it hit a power line near a residential area in Castle Rock, injuring the pilot.

Castle Rock officials said in a release posted on the town's website that the female pilot was the only passenger in the single-engine plane that crashed at about 7 p.m. Monday. Officials say the pilot confirmed she was the only one on board before she was taken to a hospital with serious injurious. Her name was not released.

Castle Rock spokeswoman Karen McGrath says the plane crashed in a deep gulley about 100 feet from the nearest house. She says no other injuries have been reported.

A Federal Aviation Administration spokesman did not immediately respond to an email.
