Troopers Search For Driver Who Ran Down Man Walking Dogs

LITTLETON, Colo. (CBS4)- State troopers are searching for the driver who ran down a man while he was walking his dogs in Littleton.

About 5:45 p.m. Thursday state troopers rushed to 7052 W. Glasgow Place in Littleton. That's where an unknown vehicle struck 61-year-old Rex Vague while he was walking his dogs.

The vehicle failed to stop and left Vague on the sidewalk with serious injuries.

Vague was later found by a local resident and taken to a local hospital in Littleton.

Troopers said he doesn't live far from where he was walking his dogs when he was struck.

There are no leads on any suspects, a vehicle description or even any car parts left at the scene of the hit and run.

"The more information we have the better. We can start piecing things together. While something might not seem consequential but first, such as the color of the vehicle, when it starts getting matched up with the type of vehicle and who the driver may be, when all of these things come together as a composite that's when we can start making a case and actually find justice for this party," said Trooper Josh Lewis.

Anyone with any information is urged to call the Colorado State Patrol at 303-239-4501. Callers can remain anonymous.
