I-225 Barrier Wall Collapses, Injures Worker
AURORA, Colo. (CBS4)- A barrier wall located along Interstate 225 near Iliff collapsed and injured one construction worker.
The wall made up of two concrete slabes fell just after 10 a.m. Wednesday. It's a precast wall that is constructed to keep noise from the interstate from reaching neighborhoods on the other side.
The wall 10 by 20 feet in size fell onto a piece of equipment the construction worker was working on.
That construction worker was hurt but the nature of his injuries is unknown. He was conscious when emergency crews arrived.
The wall is located near the widening project of I-225 from Mississippi to Parker Road and the addition of FASTER light rail line.
What caused the wall to collapse is being investigated.
Traffic along I-225 was not affected.
