Police Increase Presence At Rocky Mountain Showdown
DENVER (AP) - Police are increasing their presence at the annual Rocky Mountain Showdown between Colorado and Colorado State.
Denver Police Chief Robert White says a large contingent of uniformed and plain-clothes city officers, as well as officers from both universities' police departments, will be assigned to the game, which starts at 4 p.m. Sunday at Mile High.
He warns that Denver police, who will focus on curbing alcohol consumption, will share violators' names with their respective schools.
Security also will enforce a policy limiting the types and sizes of bags allowed in the stadium. Spectators can bring one clear bag with maximum measurements of 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 inches or a one-gallon plastic freezer bag, and a small personal item bag about the size of a hand. That bag doesn't have to be see-through.
