Aurora Police Search For Hit & Run Driver
AURORA, Colo. (AP) — Police are asking for the public's help in finding a suspect in a hit-and-run crash that injured a pedestrian in Aurora.
Lt. Jeff Turner says the victim, whose name has not been released, was crossing Colfax Avenue just east of Jamaica Street at about 11:30 p.m. Saturday when he was hit by an eastbound vehicle. Passersby who saw the man lying unconscious in the street flagged down a police officer. They did not see the accident.
Police are looking for an older brown or maroon Suburban-type vehicle seen leaving the area, but it's unknown if that vehicle was involved in the crash.
The accident happened near an intersection with intermittent lighting, and police say the victim might have been intoxicated at the time. He was in fair condition Sunday morning.
