Several Denver Parks Get New Outdoor Exercise Equipment

DENVER (CBS4) - It's a new attraction at several Denver parks -- new exercise equipment.

The fence is still up at Silverman Park, but behind it is a fitness zone. There is outdoor exercise equipment that can give a good resistance workout.

Denver is putting the zones at Silverman and three other parks to start and the city is encouraging parents to bring the kids and then get fit themselves.

"We actually are placing them next to playgrounds. So bring your child out to the park, let them play while you actually work out," Scott Gilmore with Denver Park and Recreation said. "So I think it's really, really exciting that we're doing these."

The fence should come down in the next couple of weeks and the fitness zone at Silverman Park will be ready to roll.
