Public Hearing To Be Held Over Bag Fees In Denver
DENVER (CBS4) - The Denver City Council is one step closer to mandating a 5 cent fee for plastic or paper bags at grocery and convenience stores.
A committee gave initial approval Tuesday afternoon. There will now be a public hearing before the full council votes.
For every bag used 2 cents goes to the store and 3 cents will go to the city to help cover the city's environmental costs.
People against it say the bag fee is just another tax.
