BROOMFIELD, Colo. (AP/CBS4) — A nursing assistant accused of sexually assaulting two women at a Broomfield nursing home where he worked has been criminally charged.

Prosecutors have charged Antonio Nieto, 41, with two counts of sexual assault on an at-risk adult and four counts of sexual assault involving two female patients at Broomfield Skilled Nursing.

The charges allege Nieto sexually assaulted a 73-year-old patient on Aug. 14 and a 59-year-old patient between July 10 and July 19.

In the arrest affidavit, one of the alleged victims said she was in her own bed when the assault happened. She also told police that she was recovering from hip surgery and was unable to fight off the suspect.

Officials at Broomfield Skilled Nursing said that they cannot comment on Nieto. He continued to work there even after the first sexual assault allegation was reported. In the affidavit, the nursing home director told police that Nieto was able to return to work after the first allegation because they had done their own investigation.

The Broomfield Skilled Nursing home center told police that they felt the first sex assault claim was unfounded. They stated that that first alleged victim had a history of confusion and an altered mental state. Police were then contacted again after the second victim came forward on Aug. 15.
