ASPEN, Colo. (AP) — Authorities say a 30-year-old woman is recovering after falling about 30 feet near the summit of Castle Peak south of Aspen.
The Pitkin County Sheriff’s Office says the woman, whose name has not been released, fell at about 3:15 p.m. Saturday. Crews reached the victim, who was conscious but unable to move, about an hour and a half later, and she was flown by helicopter to a Grand Junction hospital.
Authorities have not said how badly she was injured.
Castle Peak rises to an elevation of 14,279 feet. The woman fell about 1,500 feet below the summit.
