Douglas County Sheriff: Suspicious White Van Incidents Are Fake

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- The Douglas County Sheriff said recent reports of a man following women while driving a white van are false.

Douglas County Sheriff's Office spokesman Ron Hanavan said after investigation it was determined that allegations in both of incidents were false.

The sheriff's office is recommending that the district attorney's office pursue false reporting charges against the women who reported the incidents.

Last week there were two reports of suspicious incidents involving a man driving a white van who was approaching women.

The first was reported around the Northridge Park area and the second was in a Taco Bell parking lot at Blakeland Drive at Highway 85 in Littleton.

Both reports were fake.
