CDOT Releases Timelapse Video Of Successful Pecos Bridge Project
DENVER (CBS4) - Traffic was moving along smoothly on Interstate 70 on Monday morning following a full closure of the highway over the weekend.
Officials with the Colorado Department of Transportation said they were able to complete the big move of a new bridge at Pecos Street ahead of schedule.
CDOT used heavy equipment to roll the new bridge into place and worked around the clock to complete the work before Monday morning's rush hour. On Monday CDOT officials released timelapse videos showing the bridge being moved in fast motion.
The roundabout exits must still be completed, but the entire $18.6 million project should wrap up in September.
CDOT said more than 1,000 people came to the viewing area to watch the construction in progress.
