Human Remains Discovered Along Colorado River ID’d As Woman Who Disappeared In 2005

PARACHUTE, Colo. (CBS4)– Human remains found along the Colorado River have been identified as that of a young woman who went missing in 2005.

The remains were discovered on Friday four miles east of Battlement Mesa along County Road 309 near Parachute.

The DNA results from the Colorado Bureau of Investigation have identified those remains as that of Mary Comisky who disappeared in December 2005.

A few days later her jacket was found on top of a fresh pile of snow near the area where the remains were found.

The Garfield County Sheriff’s Office hasn’t commented on whether there will be a criminal investigation or if the circumstances surrounding her death are being considered suspicious.
