Denver Health To Cut Hundreds Of Jobs
DENVER (CBS4) - Denver Health Medical Center is cutting hundreds of jobs to cut costs.
The Denver Post reports the hospital will cut about 300 jobs to reduce personnel expenses by $18 million within 12 months.
The cuts will come through layoffs, attrition and a reduction in hiring.
Denver Health's budget problem stems from a combination of factors including automatic spending cuts from the federal government, double digit medical inflation and a growing number of uninsured patients.
