Colorado Teen, Grandma Dead In Eastern Utah Rollover

GREEN RIVER, Utah (AP) – A Colorado teen and her 64-year-old grandmother are dead after a rollover crash in eastern Utah over the weekend.

Utah Highway Patrol officials say 14-year-old Daisy Figueroa of Denver was thrown from an SUV a little before noon on Sunday and died of her injuries. Her grandmother, Alicia Figueroa, was also ejected and died of her injuries at a hospital in Grand Junction, Colo.

Troopers say a Nissan Pathfinder was on Interstate 70 west of Green River went it went off the road and the driver overcorrected.

Officials say six of the eight people were wearing seatbelts and had minor injuries or no injuries at all, but the teen and her grandmother were not belted in.
