Volunteers Make 2 Separate Hiker Rescues In Pitkin County
ASPEN, Colo. (CBS4) - A hiker is recovering after being rescued from a trail near Aspen.
Just before noon on Sunday the Pitkin County Sheriff's Office got a call about a man exhausted and dehydrated on the Ute Trail south of Aspen.
Rick Lamitie from Avon was reportedly very pale, shaking and sweating profusely. Volunteers were able to get him down the trail to safety.
Also on Sunday the same group of volunteer rescuers earlier had headed out north of Aspen looking for two overdue hikers who became separated from their hiking partner around the Hunter Creek area.
More than a dozen members of Mountain Rescue Aspen searched and found both women in good health.
