Colorado Springs Police Search For Brazen Sex Assault Suspect
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (CBS4)- Police in Colorado Springs are searching for a sexual assault suspect who is wanted after an attack in broad daylight. It's the latest in a string of attacks.
The most recent happened after a woman answered her door on Wednesday afternoon. The suspect knocked on the door and she opened it. That's when the man knocked her to the ground and attacked her.
"I wouldn't answer the door because I have a child. That would be very upsetting," said neighborhood resident Rochelle Garcia. "That's pretty scary actually because I live by myself."
This is the latest in a string of attacks in the city that has people concerned.
On Monday a woman was attacked and assaulted at knife point. Another woman was victimized at her home when the suspect threatened her with a gun.
Although police don't believe the three attacks are related they are urging everyone to be vigilant and aware of their surroundings.
The suspect in the most recent attack is described as 5-foot-7 with a stocky build, short hair, blue eyes and brown teeth. Anyone with information is asked to call police in Colorado Springs.
