Colorado Springs Fireworks Shows Back On, Many Others A Go

DENVER (CBS4) - Last year, Gov. John Hickenlooper banned private fireworks statewide after dry conditions fueled major wildfires, and most community canceled their Independence Day fireworks shows.

Fire danger is still high in some areas, but this year most communities are going ahead with their fireworks shows.

Below is a list of shows that are still on and shows that have been canceled:

Shows That Are A Go:

July 3 Shows

  • Avon - Nottingham Lake, fireworks at dusk
  • Denver - Coors Field, fireworks after the 6:10 p.m. Rockies-Dodgers game
  • Denver - Civic Center Park, fireworks after the 8 p.m. Independence Eve Colorado Symphony concert
  • Erie - Colorado National Golf Club, fireworks scheduled to begin at dusk
  • Glendale - Creekside Park, the show will start at approximately 9 p.m.
  • Littleton - Red, White & You Event from 5-10 p.m. at Clement Park, fireworks scheduled for 9:30 p.m. (Free Admision/No Pets)

July 4 Shows

  • Arvada - Stenger Sports Fields, fireworks will begin after 9 p.m.
  • Aurora - Aurora Municipal Center, fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
  • Boulder - Folsom Field, gates open at 8 p.m.
  • Breckenridge, fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
  • Brighton, Carmichael Park, fireworks at 9:15 p.m.
  • Broomfield County - Commons Park, fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
  • Brush, fireworks following the 7 p.m. rodeo
  • Colorado Springs - Memorial park at dusk July 4 (back on as of 7/2)
  • Colorado Springs - Fireworks after Sky Sox Minor League baseball game (fireworks also after Sky Sox Friday & Saturday games)
  • Commerce City - Dick's Sporting Goods Park, fireworks after the 7:30 p.m. Rapids Game
  • Craig - Fire station at dusk
  • Denver - Coors Field, fireworks after the 6:10 p.m. Rockies-Dodgers game
  • Denver - Elitch Gardens, fireworks at approximately 9 p.m.
  • Denver - Sports Authority Field at Mile High, fireworks after the Outlaws game -- about 9:30 p.m.
  • Durango - Vallecito Lake Community Event Center
  • Englewood/Littleton - Cornerstone Park
  • Estes Park - over Lake Estes at 9 p.m.
  • Firestone - Saddleback Golf Club, fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
  • Fort Collins - City Park, fireworks display at 9:35 p.m.
  • Fort Lupton - parking lot of south Safeway on Rollie Avenue at dusk
  • Frisco/Dillion - Frisco Bay, fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
  • Georgetown, fireworks at dusk
  • Grand Junction - Suplizio Field, fireworks at 9:45 p.m.
  • Grand Lake - fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
  • Greeley - Island Grove Regional Park, fireworks at 10 p.m.
  • Green Valley Ranch, GVR Amphitheatre, fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
  • Gunnison, Crested Butte Mountain Resort, fireworks at 9:15 p.m.

  • Louisville - Coal Creek Golf Course, events begin at 6 p.m.
  • Loveland - North Lake Park, fireworks at 9:17 p.m.
  • Montrose - Sunset Mesa
  • Morrison - Bandimere Speedway, fireworkds at 9:45 p.m.
  • Northglenn - Webster Lake, fireworks at 9:30 p.m.
  • Thornton - Thornton Multipurpose Fields (11000 Colorado Blvd.), fireworks after 9:30 p.m.
  • Silverton - Memorial Park, fireworks after dark
  • Steamboat Springs - Howelsen Hill, fireworks at 9 p.m.
  • Westminster - City Park, fireworks at 9:15 p.m.
  • Windsor - Boardwalk Park, fireworks after the concert at dusk
  • Woodland Park - Memorial Park, fireworks at dusk

So far no reports from Wheat Ridge, Green Valley Ranch or Sterling.
