Parole Director Tim Hand Fired
DENVER (CBS4)- CBS4 has learned the Department of Corrections has fired Parole Director Tim Hand. The move was effective June 30.
Hand was placed on administrative leave on May 22 just hours before a CBS4 investigation aired that had several lawmakers stating Hand's department had taken some "inexcusable" actions. One of those included taking parolees off intensive supervision due to budget issues.

Hand was also under fire for his handling of the Evan Ebel case, the parolee suspected of killing Department of Corrections Chief Tom Clements.
The decision to fire Hand was made by interim Department of Corrections director Roger Werholtz.
Corrections spokesperson Alison Morgan made it clear Hand was fired saying, "It is not a resignation."
