Disabled Kayakers Descend On Ferril Lake In City Park
DENVER (CBS4) - Kayakers were gliding along the water in City Park on Saturday as a part of Colorado Get Outdoors Day.
The kayakers have overcome severe physical challenges. The National Sports Center for The Disabled says new technology can adapt nearly any kind of sporting equipment to the individual challenge.
"I really want to let people know that they can participate in activities, and in a way that makes them feel independent," Brian Wood with NSCD said.
"It encourages people and inspires them to come out and let them know they can do many things they think they can't do," first-time kayaker Anna Aranda said.
The NSCD teaches a variety of summer and winter sports for those facing physical challenges.
