Greeley, Montrose Ban Recreational Pot Shops
GREELEY, Colo. (AP) — Greeley City Council members and the Montrose City Council have approved bans on recreational pot shops.
Greeley council members cited public health issues, including potential harm to young people.
Supporters of the retail stores say Montrose will lose money it desperately needs for schools.
According to the Greeley Tribune, the Greeley council approved several ordinances Tuesday to address issues with Amendment 64, a voter-approved state amendment that legalizes the possession and use of marijuana for adults 21 and older.
