BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4) – Firefighters were mopping up a trailer fire in the 2600 block of Mapleton in Boulder Monday morning.

The fire broke out near the start of the Bolder Boulder. The trailer looks to be a total loss, but nobody was inside at the time of the fire.

Neighbors say the owner is out of state. They say at one point there were flames shooting up 30 to 50 feet in the air.

“The dog just started barking and barking and barking and then my husband opened his eyes and the whole trailer was flames about 20 feet up,” neighbor Isabel Sanchez said. “So then we just got all of the kids and dogs out.”

Fire crews had a difficult time getting there because of the road closures in place for the Bolder Boulder.
