Officials Still Hope To Open Trail Ridge Road By Friday Despite Conditions

ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK , Colo. (CBS4) - Officials at Rocky Mountain National Park are still hoping to open Trail Ridge Road on Friday despite still having a lot of work to do.

Park spokesperson Kyle Patterson said winds on Monday and Tuesday continued to blow the snow over the ice on the road.

"We would have been unable to go far from the east side of the park," Patterson said in a statement. "The exposure and wind is not as bad on the west side of the park."

Patterson said their goal is still to open the road by Friday.
