Independence Pass On Schedule To Open Memorial Day Weekend
ASPEN, Colo. (CBS4) - Things are on track to open Independence Pass near Aspen by Memorial Day weekend.
The Colorado Department of Transportation is working with avalanche experts to clear as many as a dozen slide paths that can affect the pass.
Right now about three feet of snow covers the west side of Independence Pass.
Last year there was so little snow crews opened the pass May 11.
