Deputy Accused Of Helping Inmate Escape Appears In Court
DENVER (CBS4) - The sheriff's deputy accused of helping an inmate escape from the Denver County jail appeared in court on Monday.
Matthew Andrews is charged with aiding an escape.
Matthew Andrews told police he got an anonymous threat demanding him to help with the escape or he and his family would be harmed.
Andrews faces charges of felony escape
Police say Andrews gave Felix Trujillo an official sheriff's jacket and hat and drove him to Westminster where he is believed to be picked up by a mother's friend. Trujillo turned himself in three days after escaping.
