Victims Of Gun Violence Remembered At State Capitol

DENVER (CBS4)- Thousands of pairs of shoes lined the steps of the state Capitol in Denver on Thursday. Each pair of shoes represents a victim of gun violence in America.

It's part of a silent statement that organizers hope will make a big impact.

Supporters of tougher gun control used the annual protest to discuss the recent gun control legislation that was defeated in the U.S. Senate.

"The good news is that here in Colorado we did pass a universal background check and we did pass a magazine limit to 15 rounds," said one woman supporting gun control measures.

The group "Colorado Ceasefire" organized the silent protest of shoes.
