Army, Carson Firefighters Practice Bucket Drops
FORT CARSON, Colo. (AP) — Army helicopter crews and the Fort Carson Fire Department are practicing wildfire-fighting techniques.
Members of Fort Carson's new 4th Combat Aviation Brigade and post firefighters will train Thursday on the use of a helicopter-borne bucket that can drop about 2,000 gallons of water onto a fire in a concentrated stream.
The exercise will be conducted near Butts Army Airfield on Fort Carson, south of Colorado Springs.
