Teen Charged In Park Hill Arson Spree
DENVER (CBS4) - A teenager has been formally charged with multiple counts of arson, accused in a series of fires in the Park Hill neighborhood last week.
Lynn Kimbrough with the Denver District Attorney's Office said Christopher Padgett, 18, is charged with one count of first-degree arson and nine counts of second-degree arson.
"The charges allege that in the early morning hours of April 8, Padgett started a series of fires causing property damage to a building and numerous vehicles," Kimbrough said in a statement. "He was arrested in the vicinity of the fires as he was trying to run away."
Padgett is out of jail on a $50,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 23 to be advised of the charges. He faces a total of 18 years in prison.
