Man Found Dead In Crawford Identified

MONTROSE, Colo. (AP) — A man found dead at a home where a Montrose County sheriff's deputy was shot has been identified as 52-year-old Kent Calhoun.

The county coroner said Tuesday that details about how Calhoun died would be released after an autopsy.

Calhoun was found dead inside his home in Crawford early Monday morning by deputies responding to a domestic violence call.

The sheriff's office says deputies met with a female victim but when they knocked on the door of the home just to talk to a man inside, someone fired two shots at them.

The Montrose Daily Press reports that deputy Corey Larsen is in stable condition.
