LAKEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Lakewood, Colo.-based ZeaChem Inc. says it has made its first cellulosic-based ethanol at its demonstration biorefinery in eastern Oregon.
The company isn’t saying how big the first batch was.
CEO Jim Imbler says the company hopes to break ground on a commercial plant next year near the demonstration facility in Boardman.
ZeaChem takes biomass and turns it into ethanol and other products.
