Denver Tops Alaska-Anchorage 6-1 To End WCHA Play

DENVER (AP) - Shawn Ostrow had two goals as Denver beat Alaska-Anchorage 6-1 Sunday to wrap up the fifth seed in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association playoffs.

Nolan Zajac added a goal and an assist for the Pioneers (19-11-5, 14-9-5), who will host rival Colorado College in the best-of-three first round next weekend. Ty Loney had three assists.

Denver scored three goals in 15 shots in the first period. It put 34 shots on UAA goalie Chris Kamal, who made 28 saves. Sam Brittain made 27 stops for Denver.

Tyler Currier scored the only goal for the Seawolves (4-23-7, 2-20-6). They'll open the playoffs at top-seeded St. Cloud State.
