Telescope Built In Boulder Finds Smallest Planet

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- Scientists from NASA say they've discovered a new planetary system and a telescope built in Colorado helped find it.

The Kepler Space Telescope was built by Ball Aerospace & Technologies in Boulder.

Scientists used the telescope to find the smallest planet ever discovered around a star similar to our sun.

The planet is about the size of the moon.

Kepler's mission is to find planets similar to the Earth where water might exist.
