WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4) – Investigators say a 7-year-old playing with a lighter was the cause of a house fire in Westminster.
Firefighters battled the house fire Friday night. Everyone inside was able to escape unharmed from the home in the 4500 block of 69th Avenue.
When crews arrived just before 9 p.m. they found heavy smoke and flames coming from the house.
Neighboring homes were evacuated as a precaution. Crews got the fire under control at 9:17 p.m. and the fire was out at 9:33 p.m.
Everyone from evacuated homes was allowed to return when the fire was out.
There is no estimate on how much damage the fire caused or if the family will be allowed to return home.
